This item is designed to fit between the studs inside the wall. It does a great job of carrying the exhaust air through the top plate and into attic/floor space. You should use the 4″ aluminum vent to complete the run to the outside. This dryer vent rough-in system has (3) 2-1/2″ clearance telescoping sections that extend from 29″ to 77″. It also has one male snap-lock fitting, one female snap-lock collar and mounting strap, as well as all-metal rigid construction that meets most in-wall codes.

This indoor dryer vent is designed to capture the lint from your electric clothes dryer, for those unable to vent to the outside. All types of indoor dryer vents will allow heat and humidity into the room. We recommend the user allow for air circulation and ventilation when operated in confined spaces. This patented double filter system does not use water, eliminating messy cleanups. The stainless steel screen acts as a pre-filter capturing large lint particles, pet hair, etc. and can be cleaned with a sweeping motion of the hand. The polyester filter will capture the finer lint dust and can be vacuumed clean for extended use or replaced when fully loaded with lint. Replacement filters are available in packages of 6, lasting most users up to a year under normal conditions. There is a patent pending “safety vent flap” designed to open, as a reminder to clean the screen and filter. It features four-layer protection, making it more durable and resistant to leaks than single-layer designs. The internal layer is a heavy-duty dual aluminum foil that is fire/flame resistant. While the outer layer is made of dual PVC thermoplastic that protects the aluminum from cuts and tears, while stopping leakage. The ducting are held together by an internal steel-wire spiral that is flexible and easy-to-install in hard to reach places. The ducting can be shorted but cutting the tube, to fit various applications. Includes two stainless steel duct clamps.
